Classical homeopathy is a holistic therapy - the individual is considered as a whole and symptoms from the body, mind, and spirit are considered when choosing a homeopathic remedy. Homeopathy takes into consideration a person's environment and lifestyle, providing individualized treatment for the person. Classical homeopathy most closely matches the totality of the individual's symptoms and personality with the homeopathic remedy in order to stimulate the body's own natural healing response. In classical homeopathy, the use of a single remedy at a time is a basic principle.

Naturopathic physicians seek to restore and maintain optimum health in their patients by emphasizing nature's inherent self-healing process, the vis medicatrix naturae. This is accomplished through education and the rational use of natural therapeutics.

Functional medicine is an evolving practice of medicine that addresses the healthcare of individuals suffering from complex and chronic disease, such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, mental illness, and autoimmune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis. By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of medical practice to a more patient-centered approach, functional medicine addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. Functional medicine involves understanding the origins, prevention, and treatment of complex, chronic disease, integrating best medical practices, including traditional western medical practices with what are sometimes considered “alternative” or “integrative” medicine, creating a focus on prevention through nutrition, diet, and exercise. Functional medicine uses the latest laboratory testing and other diagnostic techniques; and prescribes combinations of drugs and/or botanical medicines, supplements, therapeutic diets, detoxification programs, or stress-management techniques.

Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is an empirically validated, clinical intervention for complex trauma or chronic, treatment resistant post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The TCTSY program is included in the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP). TCTSY is also a valuable adjunct treatment for Addictions and Recovery, Grief and Loss, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Chronic Pain.
With foundations in Trauma Theory, Attachment Theory, and Neuroscience, TCTSY uses methodology based on elements of hatha yoga which are modified to foster trauma survivors’ experiences of empowerment and befriending the body.
In TCTSY, the emphasis is not on external expression or appearance, or receiving the approval of an external authority but instead is focused on the internal experience of the participant. This shift in orientation, from the external to the internal, is a key attribute of TCTSY as a complementary treatment for complex trauma.
With this approach, the power resides within the individual, not the facilitator. TCTSY presents opportunities for participants to be in charge of themselves based on a felt sense of their own body, cultivating a sense of agency that is compromised as a result of trauma.
